🎙PODCAST | Give Me Your Name: A Spaniard’s Road to Mauthausen

History is full of unresolved questions. Cinematic decisions, like the one Antonio Ballesta made when he was transferred to Mauthausen. Why? Why in such extreme circumstances, of life or death, with so many basic needs to cover, without knowing if you are going to die, if you have hours or days left, without knowing your destiny… Do you decide to change your name to stay close to a friend?

Virginia Fernández is a historian and a relative of Antonio Ballesta, a victim of Nazism. Her story is told through personal objects, such as photographs, medals or documents collected with those of other victims in an exhibition at the Provincial Historical Archive of Alicante. It is also told through the voice of her niece.
