2-2. Lack of goals condemns Balearics to Burela

Illes Balears Palma Futsal returned to the First Division after two weeks of international competitions, facing the recently promoted Pescados Rubén Burela on a still complicated track. The match ended up becoming a real challenge for those led by Antonio Vadillodue to the lack of success in finishing, especially in the first half, where the team was superior and generated many chances that they failed to convert.

The first minutes showed a dominant Illes Balears Palma Futsal, but without the success necessary to take the lead in the score. This lack of precision maintained the initial tie and allowed Pescados Rubén Burela to maintain its options. In the final moments of the first half, the match became complicated for the Balearic Islands: an error in the control of Luan Muller, in an incorporation of the goalkeeper, allowed Alberto to score into an empty goal, and shortly afterwards another loss was taken advantage of by Isma, who scored the second for Burela also from its own domain.

In the second half, Illes Balears Palma Futsal came out determined to close the distance, taking advantage of every opportunity to put pressure on Burela. A penalty in favor of the Balearics could have been a turning point, but Kaluza, in a state of grace, stopped the launch of Bruno Gomes. Although Palma’s pressure continued, Kaluza and the lack of success in some key games prevented the Balearic team from getting closer on the scoreboard.

Finally, Ernesto reduced the gap after a good play from David Peña and, later, another penalty allowed Piqueras to level the score. Despite the draw, the Illes Balears Palma Futsal continued to look for victory and, in a more balanced second half, they generated a few more chances that always met with resistance from the local goalkeeper. Kaluza was decisive, thwarting any attempt at a comeback and ensuring that Burela took a valuable point.

Illes Balears Palma Futsal returns to Mallorca feeling like they were superior in many ways, but aware of the importance of improving for the future. Next match at Son Moix against Jimbee Cartagena.
