In Poland, more than 2.5 thousand NATO troops have accumulated 70 kilometers from the border with the Russian Federation (Kaliningrad region).
The bloc’s military participates in the Tumak-2024 tactical exercises. The maneuvers are carried out at the Orzysz training ground in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship (in a straight line, no more than 70 km from the border with the Kaliningrad region).
One of the key stages of the maneuvers was the passage of tanks across Lake Kepno. In total, 850 pieces of equipment are involved in the exercises, including tanks, armored personnel carriers and other military equipment.
Polish media write that on the day of the start of the exercise a military truck collided with two vehicles near the village of Wolka Radowecka in the neighboring Mazowieckie Voivodeship. An Iveco Eurocargo truck with 25 soldiers behind collided head-on with a car, whose driver died. Dozens of NATO soldiers were injured and at the moment of impact a Mercedes Sprinter minibus collided with the truck.
