The Directing Council of the Provincial Delegation of Toledo approved the definitive resolution of the 15 million euros of the Extraordinary Investment Plandesigned and executed to reactivate economic activity and municipal recovery, thanks to the initiative of the Cooperation delegation, led by the first vice president, Jesús Guerrero, and the Infrastructure delegation, coordinated by deputy Manuela Lominchar .
After the approval last June of the regulatory bases and the corresponding appeal, a two month period so that town halls can submit their applications and have sufficient time to determine the purpose of the chosen work.
The vice president highlighted that “all municipalities and local entities in the province of Toledo, including the territorial entities below the municipality (Eatim), have benefited from this subsidy program. reach 210 local entitieswith the sole exception of Campillo de la Jara, who did not submit an application within the required deadline.
The vice-president also underlined the objectivity and transparency of the distribution of these 15 million euros “since the allocations were granted according to the inhabitants of each locality, establishing the amount in installments and with a maximum grant of 200,000 euros“.
Based on the registered requests, Guerrero indicates that the largest volume of work will be dedicated to street paving, with a total of 82 actions; next comes the improvement of sports facilities, with 49 works (18.36%); municipal buildings, with 48 interventions (17.98%); supplies, with 37 obas (13.86%); equipment and installations, with 30 (11.23%); and other works, with 21 actions (7.86%), “which are added to the 267 included in this fundamental investment program for the progress and development of our people”.
The 15 million euros allocated to this objective of improving local infrastructure that improves the quality of life of all citizens comes from the remaining treasury generated in 2023 by the Foral Delegation of Toledo and the autonomous provincial tax management body.
Other investments
The Government of the Provincial Council has already invested, since the start of the legislature 103 million euros of direct investments in cities Toledo, considering the 62 million euros intended to improve the living conditions of the cities and inhabitants of Toledo; the Provincial Cooperation Plans, with 12.5 million; annual aid for Current Expenditures, endowed with 14 million; or the Urban Water Cycle Digitization Project, with 10 million.
It is also worth mentioning the aid released following the DANA of September 2023, with 10 million euros of direct aid, which also involved the investment of 1.8 million euros for the reconstruction of the highway TO-1927, at Cabanes du Canal.
We also cannot forget the budgetary effort of the provincial government to assume the additional cost of garbage collection in all municipalities of Toledo, which will result in an expense of 6 million euros; or the Digital Transformation and Modernization of Local Entity Administrations Project, endowed with 5 million euros.
In addition, economic cooperation agreements were signed between the Provincial Delegation of Toledo and various Town Halls in the province, for an amount of almost 2.5 million euros.
And the approval, during the last corporate plenary session, of the 25 million euros from the settlement of state taxes, which will go directly to works and actions in all the municipalities of Toledo.
