21st day of the Patriotic War: the city of Fuzuli is liberated from occupation

October 17, 2020, twenty-first day of the Patriotic War, which led us to the freedom of our lands.

Oku.Az reminds that this time the Armenian armed forces are moving the fighting outside the front line, targeting the civilian population and civilian infrastructure, and starting in the morning they are firing on the territories of the Goranboy, Tartar, Aghdam and Aghjabedi regions of Azerbaijan, as well as the city of Ganja for the fifth time since the start of the war. The Armenian Armed Forces use Scud ballistic missiles during the attack. The rockets fall in a densely populated area. At this time, a large number of different residential houses and other buildings are damaged. The first missile fell just 2 kilometers from the city building and the second fell in the Kepaz region, west of the city. As a result, 20 houses were destroyed and a large number of civilians were left under the rubble. As a result of the attack, 15 people were killed and 55 injured.

However, during those hours, the Armenian army fired rockets at Mingachevir, a large industrial city located more than 100 kilometers from the front area, targeting the Mingachevir hydroelectric plant, the largest power plant in the South Caucasus. However, the missiles are neutralized in the air by the Azerbaijan Air Defense Forces.

The armed forces of Armenia, which flagrantly violated the humanitarian ceasefire regime, began firing again in the morning on the territories of the Tartar, Aghdam, Barda and Aghjabedi regions.

As a result of the activities carried out by the Azerbaijani army, which, unlike Armenia, fought only on the battlefield, a large number of enemy troops, seven “T-72” tanks, two “BM-21″ Grad” YARS, eight “D-30” howitzer and one “D-20” howitzer, 10 trucks loaded with ammunition and seven other vehicles are destroyed and disabled. From September 27 to today, 234 tanks, 49 infantry fighting vehicles, 16 self-propelled artillery units, 190 guns of various calibers, two “Hurricane” systems, one “TOS 1a” incendiary ammunition, two “Elbrus” missiles belonging to the Armenian army army tactical-operational missile complex, one anti-aircraft missile complex “Tochka-U”, two complexes “S-300”, 35 anti-aircraft missile complexes “Osa”, three “Tor”, five anti-aircraft missile complexes “Krug” and “Kub”, 9 units of radio-combat electronic systems, 196 units of trucks are destroyed. As loot, 36 tanks, 24 infantry fighting vehicles and 98 trucks were seized. In the afternoon, units of the Armenian armed forces attempted to fly over the positions of the Azerbaijani army in the direction of the Tovuz region on the state border between Armenia and Azerbaijan using a tactical unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), and were immediately detected and destroyed. by Air Defense units. Three “Tor-M2KM” anti-aircraft missile complexes belonging to the Armenian armed forces were destroyed with a precise strike in the last two days during fighting in the direction of Fuzuli-Jabrayil.

The Armenian army, which lost many troops, received the next blow that same day. Rustam Gasparyan, the commander of the “Black Tiger” volunteer group of the Armenian armed forces, is destroyed.

On the same day, the president Ilham Aliyev gives our people the good news that we have been waiting for for many years. In his address to the people, the Head of State announced that the villages of Gochahmadli, Chimen, Musabayli, Pirahmadli, Dadali, Isikli, Juvarli and the city of Fuzuli were completely freed from occupation.

As a result of the operations, the chief fortification engineer of the Armenian army, Colonel Ashot Ghazarian, was among those destroyed.

In this context, as of October 18 at 00:00, Azerbaijan and Armenia agree to a temporary humanitarian ceasefire.
