2300 people are victims of climate change in Europe for 10 days

Researchers from the UK, Denmark, the Netherlands and Switzerland analyzed weather conditions in 12 European cities from June 23 and the second from July this year.

Researchers calculated that about 2300 people died for reasons associated with heat during the 10 -day period, and about two -thirds of deaths, or about 1,500 cases, dates back to climate change.

The temperature in many of these cities increased to the level of recording during this time, often exceeding 40 degrees Celsius.

Without global warming, which, as they say, increased the temperature during the day in cities by 1-4 degrees Celsius, about 800 people will die from the warmth.

The last thermal wave influenced the most vulnerable groups, such as people with chronic diseases and elderly people. According to the research group, 88% of the deaths that were limited were among 65 -year -olds.
