Three years have passed since the military helicopter of the State Border Service (SBS) crashed while carrying out training flights at the “Garaheybat” airfield, located on the territory of the Khizi district.

Oku.Az reports that the helicopter crashed on November 30, 2021 at 10:40 a.m. while conducting training flights.

As a result of the accident, 14 people died and two were injured.

Names of fallen soldiers:

1. Colonel Fuzuli Ali Ibram oglu Javadov;

2. Colonel Emil Nazir oglu Nazirov;

3. Major Elmir Mirjalil oglu Hasanov;

4. Major Elbrus Samraddin oglu Ahmadov;

5. Major Emil Shahid oglu Mayilov;

6. Major Murad Yashar Mammadov;

7. Major Emil Elman oglu Aliyev;

8. Captain of the medical service Jeyhun Khanlar oglu Ahmadkhanov;

9. Bayramli, son of Captain Javid Ahliman;

10. Captain Khayyam Alikhan oglu Aliyev;

11. Garaisayev, son of Captain Teymur Anvar;

12. Lieutenant Abdulla Telman oglu Suleymanov;

13. Senior Lieutenant Farid Tayyar oglu Nagiyev;

14. employee Elchin Fikret oglu Nabiyev.

During the incident, Lieutenant Colonel Emil Mammad oglu Jafarov and Captain Ramin Ramiz oglu Adilov were injured.

Both are currently serving in the military.

It should be noted that the fallen soldiers were given the status of martyrs.

In connection with the incident, a criminal case was initiated in the Department of Instruction of the Prosecutor General’s Office under article 352.2 of the Criminal Code (in case of violation of flight rules or flight preparation due to carelessness that caused the death of two or more people) and other items.

The inspection of the crime scene included the participation of the management of the Attorney General’s Office and the State Border Service, as well as forensic and ballistic experts, forensic technicians, firefighters and forensic doctors. The “black box” was taken by a specialist from the Ministry of Defense and its investigation was carried out.

It was determined that the decision to land on the runway was made by the crew 16 minutes and 59 seconds after the helicopter took off, at which time the speed of the helicopter was 141 km/h, and the radius height (distance from the ground to the helicopter) was 101 meters.

At minute 17 and 10 seconds of flight, as a result of starting the landing process without taking into account the wind direction, significant changes occurred in the flight parameters of the helicopter, with the flight speed being 0 km/h and the radius height. It measured 89 meters.

In the last minutes, the pilots tried to remove the helicopter from the accident, but were unsuccessful.
