30,000 euros and passports for corruption in the Court

Daniel Sancho’s parents, Rodolfo Sancho and Silvia Bronchaloallegedly received an offer from a Russian citizen to intervene in the court’s decision that sentenced his son, according to the newspaper El Confidencial and the journalist José Luis Torá explained in Más Vale Tarde. Specifically, this third party allegedly offered, in exchange for “30,000 euros and the delivery of passports in sealed envelopes”, to use their contacts in the Thai justice system to appear more benevolent.

“According to information from this newspaper, a person would have contact an assistant of Rodolfo Sancho, who accompanied him throughout the process,” Torá said. The journalist added that “the offer was listened to and appreciated, but in the end it was completely excluded.”

Likewise, lawyer Beatriz de Vicente warned that “the crime of prevarication is highly punished there and this man (the judge who sentenced Daniel Sancho) was of absolute integrity.” Regarding the rejection of the offer, the lawyer clarified that “the Thai justice system is considering the active and passive prevarication, “The official who takes the money would commit as many crimes as the one who offers it.”

This information is known after Daniel Sancho was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of surgeon Edwin Cardona and transferred to the prison in Surah Thani.
