On October 4, 2024, the next “Zoom” meeting of the COP29 NGO Coalition was held in hybrid form.
The “Report” reports that at the meeting it was announced that the ranks of the Coalition are expanding every day; Now 335 NGOs from 71 countries around the world are included in this composition.
108 NGOs in the coalition are also members of constituencies with observer status to the UNFCCC.
During the hybrid meeting, the world’s leading civil society representatives appreciated the global initiatives presented by Azerbaijan. The COP29 NGO Coalition issued a new call for countries around the world to join Azerbaijan’s Joint COP29 Ceasefire Call.
The meeting discussed opportunities for joint cooperation during COP29, took into account environmental and gender issues, and speakers from European, African and Asian countries gave presentations on the topics.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijan National NGO Forum represents our country in the COP29 NGO Coalition. The coalition was created at the initiative of the National NGO Forum of Azerbaijan.
The coalition holds hybrid meetings and coordinates activities on a regular basis.
