The senator of the Popular Party, Francisco Martín Bernabé Pérezdepicted the waste of Pedro Sánchez’s government, detailing the various expenses incurred by the socialist executive to maintain the Falcon presidential plane. “4 and a half million euros that we Spaniards pay every year with our tax money so that Sánchez and you, his ministers, have a luxury air taxi,” he told the Senate, addressing Defense Minister Margarita. Robles.
During his speech, the PP leader revealed that the minister had signed three calls for tenders supplies for aircraft maintenance and supplies. As detailed, the government spends 200,000 euros per year on a contract of luxury catering to provide Le Faucon with all types of gastronomic products such as smoked, Iberian, seafood and red meats. “They take all this on board in case they pass out,” he quips.
He also indicated that the executive allocates 60,000 euros per year to a open alcoholic beverage bar which are always available on the plane. “Big brand whisky, rums and gins for their premium bars while they fly away,” he said.
Not only that, but Bernabé Pérez denounced the fact that the Socialist Executive spends 320,000 euros per year for the cleaning contract of the plane, or 130% more than what the Popular Party spent when it was in Government. “It all exceeds the 4 and a half million euros that we Spaniards pay every year with our tax money, so that Sánchez and you, his ministers, have a luxury air taxi. But not only for his official trips, but also for the private trips of his president and with whom he goes to weddings, vacations, concerts and Socialist Party rallies and that if he had a little decency, he would pay out of his own pocket,” he denounced.
Concerning the Falcon cleaning contracts, the senator from popular explained that the government requires 53 cleanings per month24 before flights, 25 before the flight and 4 intensive cleanings at a rate of one per week. A waste which, according to Bernabé Pérez, is excessive. “On average two cleanings per day, like rooms in five-star hotels. “Long live luxury and Spanish worker socialism!” » he exclaimed.
Along the same lines, Bernabé Pérez recommended to Minister Robles that the PSOE does not worry so much about cleaning the Falcon but rather about cleaning the corruption of his party, which greatly worries the Spanish people. “Don’t worry too much about the Falcon, because we already know that it’s a sacrifice for you to use the aircraft, because since the seats don’t recline enough, you leave with a very bad body,” he said. he quipped.
Finally, the senator recommended that members of the government use trains more “like we all do” because “that is why they live in Spain.”
