Istanbul – On Tuesday (1/7/2025) in Istanbul, Turkic, four people were detained by the police related to the publication of cartoons with the image of the Prophet Muhammad. The detention was part of the ongoing investigation, which was started by the prosecutor Istanbul for a crime, “offensive religious values ​​in public.”

The cartoon, which was shown in the publication of the magazine Satier Leman on June 26, recently mentioned the conflict of Israel-Iran, and described the prophet Muhammad and the Prophet Moses, shaking his hands over the city, which became garbage.

The publication of the cartoon caused anger. Video on social networks show that a large group of protesters gathers outside the office of Istanbul Leman, and some of them tried to forcibly enter.

In the X Turkish communication department, Fakhretin Altun condemned the publication of the cartoon, saying: “Türkiye will not give people who do not morally attack the noble values ​​of our nation, every opportunity.”

“The danger and disrespect for our prophet, the only guide of Muslims, cannot be covered with freedom of the press,” Altun said, adding that “this mentality of pain” will be responsible to the law.
