40 years in prison for Zamorano businessman accused of sexual abuse of six minors, daughters of his friends

The Zamora Provincial Court sentences the Zamora businessman accused of sexual abuse of six minors to 40 years in prison.

The defendant was convicted of multiple crimes of continuous and aggravated sexual abuse, with individual sentences varying between 4 and 10 years and six months in prison, depending on the severity of the acts committed with each victim.

Likewise, the court imposed a ban on approaching each of the minors within a radius of 500 meters from their home, place of study or work, as well as communicating with them by any means, including third parties , for 15 years.

He was also sentenced to a special disqualification from any profession, trade or activity, whether paid or unpaid, involving regular and direct contact with minors, for 16 years and to supervised release for 10 years.

The Provincial Court also ordered the accused to compensate two of the minors up to 30,000 each and the four other victims up to 20,000 for moral damage. In total, the amount amounts to 140,000 euros for moral damage.

All this while imposing on the accused the costs of this trial, including those of the private accusations.

The sentence is not final and the businessman therefore has 10 days to appeal to the Superior Court of Justice of Castilla y León.

The identity of minors has been preserved in accordance with data protection regulations.
