President of Prabowo Subianto took part in a high -level conference Brics 2025 (summit), which took place in Rio -de -Zhanero, Brazil, on Sunday, July 6, 2025.
Prabowo appreciated that the participation of Indonesia in the BRICS economic group as a strategic step to strengthen the position of Indonesia in the international arena.
“President Prabovo is optimistic that the participation of Indonesia in the BRICS will strengthen the position of Indonesia in the global arena, and also emphasize the importance of cooperation between countries through forums such as BRICS to support stability and prosperity of world activity,” the secretary of the Cabinet of Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Inra Vajai was quoted.
According to him, the participation of Indonesia at the Brix forum was the result of direct dedication of great -grandmother for the first year, when he was the president of the Republic of Indonesia. Not so long ago, Indonesia officially became the 11th member of BRICS in January 2025.
“The entry into Indonesia in the membership in BRICS is a direct initiation of President Prabavo in the first year to become the president of the Republic of Indonesia, and all members of BRICS welcomed him. Indonesia was quickly adopted to become a 11th member of BRICS, ”he said.
BRICS membership currently consists of Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, etiopia, Iran and Indonesia. With this membership, BRICS currently represents 50 percent of the world’s population and covers 35 percent of the global gross domestic product (GDP).
In addition, Teddy also said that this forum confirmed the principle that became the support of Prabavo in building international relations, namely about the importance of expanding the friendship network and strategic cooperation between nations. This is to support the global world and prosperity.
“The entry into Indonesia in Brics is a manifestation of a principle that is always held by the head of state, that there are too few friends, one enemy,” Teddy explained.
The presence of Prabowo at the BRICS 2025 summit in Brazil is a historical moment. Because this is the first time when Indonesia is involved as a complete brics member.
