Asif Ismayilov, 57, a resident of Sumgayit, said he was a victim of doctors’ irresponsibility.
Asif Ismayilov, who lives in the city’s 21st district, says that months ago he went to the doctor because he felt that the pain in his cervical vertebrae was increasing and was even unbearable. Emin Yagubov, head of the neurosurgery department at Sumgayit City Emergency Medical Hospital, performed the initial examination. The patient was operated on in traumatology with his consent and after some time he was discharged for an outpatient examination because his condition was good. However, as 57-year-old Asif Ismayilov’s condition later worsened, he consulted a doctor in Baku and underwent surgery again. Here he was told that the person who performed the initial operation made a mistake. Currently, Asif Ismayilov says that his condition is serious and that he has completely lost the ability to walk.
Emin Yagubov, head of the neurosurgery department at the emergency hospital in the city of Sumgayit, whose name is known about the situation, stated that the accusations of patient Asif Ismayilov are completely unfounded.
According to him, the patient’s condition was explained to him before the operation and he later performed the operation again in Baku, not agreeing with it. Despite this, Asif Ismayilova often visited his house.
Asif Ismayilov said he will soon appeal to the court.
