The mourning in Galician sport after the death of a 65-year-old man was confirmed this Sunday during a trail in Boiro (La Coruña).
The athlete suffered a cardiac arrest while covering a 24-kilometer route through the Sierra de Barbanza.
According to ‘La Voz de Galicia’, an ambulance and then a medical helicopter went to the place where the man was, but they were unable to do anything to save his life.
After hearing the news, the organization of the Xunta de Galicia Carreiras Mountain Cup has decided to suspend the awards ceremony.
