Tel Aviv – Dozens of former Israeli soldiers held a demonstration outside the Ministry of Defense (KEMHAN) in Tel Aviv.

They called for the release of the occupied army of Mattan Angers, who has been held in Gaza since October 7, 2023.

According to the Hebrew daily Maariv newspaper, 70 former soldiers gathered in a place known as the “hostage field” in Tel Aviv, accompanied by members of the Angress family.

From there, they lined up to Galen a logo that begins in the Kiria region, where the Ministry of Defense is located.

The demonstrators wore black pants and green olive shirts that resemble the uniform that Mattan wears when he was arrested from a tank in the position of Nahal Oz military near the Gaza fence.

The protest, entitled “All Eyes in Nahal Oz” aims to highlight the suffering of the English language, which was injured during the battle, according to Maariv.

The demonstrators covered their faces with a red paint to imitate blood and wrapped their hands to describe the wounds suffered by the Israeli soldier.

“Today, he is the only soldier who survived from Nahal Oz, who has courageously fought and his family, with his friends, Itay Hain and Daniel Peretz, who were killed and his body was not in Gaza,” said Amit, a former soldier and one of the protest organizers.

He added: “This is a form of closure to return the last alive soldier.”

“We are here to scream the pain,” he said. “We were wearing clothes like Matan, and we tried to describe his hands, which are no longer working anymore, and the wounds on his face and eyes. Perhaps someone wakes up and does something for him.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu refused the ceasefire because if his government collapses, he may be imprisoned in various corruption cases that were wrapped around him.
