In total, 88 migrants, including 57 of North African origin, 24 sub-Saharan, five Syrians and two Pakistaniswere intercepted after the arrival of four boat-type craft, so far this Saturday, October 12, on the coasts of the Balearic Islands.
According to the Government Delegation, based on information provided by the Civil Guard, this Saturday 24 sub-Saharan migrants, apparently in good health, were intercepted in the Ses Salines Lighthouse, Santanyí (Mallorca). Guards from Benemérita de Santanyí and Felanitx participated in this action.
Subsequently, at 11:15 a.m., 17 people of North African origin, apparently in good health, were rescued one nautical mile south of Formentera. The Provincial Maritime Service of the Civil Guard and Maritime Rescue.
Later, around 1:30 p.m., a total of 21 migrants were intercepted, including 16 of North African origin and five of Syrian origin, apparently in good health. This time the events occurred on land, in the Es Caló area, in Formentera. The Civil Guard of Formentera and the Local Police participated in this action.
Finally, at 4 p.m., a total of 26 migrants were intercepted. 24 of North African origin and two of Pakistani originin apparent good health. The events also occurred on land, in the S’Estufador district of Formentera. Likewise, the Civil Guard of Formentera and the local police intervened.
