The Department of Industry and Ecological and Digital Transition, through the Navarre International Plan (PIN)supports for another year the internationalization of Navarrese companies dedicated to health technologies which, for the sixth time, They have the opportunity to attend the MEDICA 2024 exhibitionworld leader in the medical devices sector, which is being held in Düsseldorf (Germany) from November 11 to 14 this month.
On this occasion, nine companies from the Foral Community are who are participating in the 55th edition of the showattended by more than 5,300 exhibitors and welcoming 83,000 visitors from 165 countries.
Among the nine companies, six repeat the experience at the fair, which this year dedicates a larger exhibition space than in previous editions in the national part of pavilion 14, organized by the Spanish Federation of Health Technology Companies ( FENIN) and supports health technology from Spainof the Spanish Institute of Foreign Trade (ICEX).
As a novelty, this year the International Map of Navarre has developed an interactive virtual catalog that collects, on the one hand, the most relevant data from the community and, on the other hand, specific information on each of the companies participating in this edition. It is a very useful promotional and commercial tool for companies and will be available until the next edition of the show. A resource that other Navarrese companies in the health sector can also use in their commercial work and the export of their products or services.
Fair program
Taking into account the needs of businesses, the PIN has scheduled meetings with potential customers from different countries for Navarrese companies.
Today, Tuesday 12, the event ‘Taiwan MedTech Networkingin which the Director of the Service, Miren Ausín, participates; in the company of Laura Corcuera, head of the Navarra Health Cluster, presenting Navarra’s potential, its capabilities and its sectoral ecosystem. This invitation to collaborate in the conference is considered “very positive” to strengthen the relationship between Navarre and PIN with the Taiwan Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), which began in 2020.
Tomorrow, Wednesday 13, on the stand of National Science and Technology Council A space is offered to European companies to present their capabilities in the field of health to Taiwanese companies. The Navarrese companies Ysium, Darwin Biomed and Arpa participate in this framework.
During the three days of the event, the Navarra stand received a visit from Manuel Ledesma, Chief Economic and Commercial Advisor of the Economic and Commercial Office of Spain in Düsseldorf; and David Portalés Mañanós, market analyst from the same office.

Dedicated to respiratory solutions at the health level, they wish to take advantage of the show to strengthen their distribution network by strengthening their international presence. According to Jorge Pascual, commercial director of this company, “Medica is a key exhibition because it brings together several participants from the health sector, thus making it possible to present the innovations and strengths that each of us possesses in this field. This is an ideal opportunity to explore new markets and collaborations.
-KOÜMER, laboratory furniture (Huarte): oriented towards the production of equipment for laboratories, it employs 5 people and participates in the fair, in another edition, “looking for new possible distributors to boost its exports”, according to Marta Anaya, commercial director of the business. . business.
–DARWIN Biomed(Tudela): employs 4 people, who focus their activity on scalable design and, once again, return to MEDICA. During the show, they intend to “search for new distributors and, at the same time, institutions that act as testers/early adopters »according to Adrián Jiménez, head of engineering at the company. The company has so far worked in Spain, the United States, Austria, Germany and Belgium.
-Embega Health (Villatuerta): with almost 150 employees, this Navarrese company, expert in screen printing, hopes to strengthen relationships with its main partners and clients located in Europe, as Luis Huici, responsible for business development, explains: “EMBEGA Health “This is a newly created business sector and the aim is to be able to grow in the sector, deploying efforts in the European and American markets.” This company is also one of those that repeats the experience.
-Navarra Health Cluster: From the Navarre Health Cluster, which is participating for another year, its director Laura Corcuera, is committed to “promoting the health ecosystem in Navarre, supporting the entities associated with NHC present at the fair and promoting the internationalization of activities”.

-OSF Plastic (Arazuri): in their second year, they bring the manufacturing show of its products by injection of parts made of technical plastics and fluorinated materials. They also carry out work assembling parts, applying glue, injection with inserts or bi-material injections.
-Ysium Medical (Arré): dedicated to digital transformation of medicine combining engineering, medicine and design to provide solutions to needs by building new medical devices.
International Map of Navarre
The Navarre International Plan includes the commitment of the Government of Navarra with the internationalization of Navarrese companies, in particular SMEs, with the desire to meet two objectives: promote the internationalization of the territory; and promote exports and foreign establishments of Navarrese companies, focusing on priority sectors for Navarre.
