BTS V’s ‘Love Me Again’ Surpasses 765 Million on Spotify

BTS’s V continued his record-breaking global popularity on Spotify with his solo song “Love Me Again.” V’s pre-released song “Love Me Again” from his solo album “Layover” surpassed 765 million on Spotify, the world’s largest streaming platform, on August 23. This is the shortest period of time for a K-pop solo song to reach this milestone, not as a title track but as a B-side song.

“Love Me Again” is the first and only B-side song by a K-pop solo artist that has been on Spotify’s global chart for a year, truly proving V’s power as a solo artist.

“Love Me Again” topped the UK iTunes chart on August 18 and has topped iTunes in a total of 101 countries. With this, V’s solo songs that have topped the UK iTunes chart are “Love Me Again,” “Sweet Night,” “Christmas Tree,” “Rainy Days,” “Slow Dancing,” “Where Ever You Are,” and “Friends.”

In an interview with Rolling Stone, V chose “Love Me Again” as his favorite song from “Layover.” V said, “‘Love Me Again’ is a song about reminiscing and wanting to go back to the past. That sentiment was reflected in the music video. In short, it’s saying that my youth isn’t over yet.”

With his solo album ‘LAYOVER,’ V became the first K-pop solo artist to have all of his songs streamed over 100 million times on Spotify, and the first Asian solo artist to have all of his songs sold over 100,000 units in the United States.
