After the incident, a fire broke out. Soldiers tried to put out the fire themselves, but were unsuccessful. By the time they called the fire brigade, it was already too late. Currently, 1,500 hectares of forest are burning and the city is covered in smoke.
There are also fires in the vicinity of Izyum, Balakleya and Slobojan National Park. Peaceful residents complain of a strong smell, headaches and bad mood. According to preliminary information, a 74-year-old woman has died.
