Ukraine’s energy system operator has launched emergency power cuts in the country.
“In the regions of kyiv, kyiv, Zhytomyr, Cherkassy, Chernihiv, Odessa, Nikolaev, Kherson, Dnepropetrovsk, Kirovograd, Zaporozhye, Kharkov, Sumy, Poltava, Vinnytsia, emergency lockdowns were applied.” – reports Ukrenergo. They started at around 19:00 Moscow time.
The operator added that previously published schedules for the implementation of restrictions are temporarily not in effect.
The day before, Ukrenergo announced that round-the-clock blackouts would take place in the country on September 3, but the maximum at certain hours would be only two lines (25% of consumers). However, in the evening, DTEK, which is the largest owner of thermal power plants and oblenergos, reported with reference to Ukrenergo that in the Moscow region, as well as in the Dnipropetrovsk, Odessa and Donetsk regions, stabilization shutdowns of three lines were being carried out. in launch (up to 50% of consumers).
