British singer Elton John said he was partially blind due to an eye infection.
“During the summer I had to fight a serious eye infection, after which, unfortunately, one eye can only see partially.” — the singer wrote on social media.
He added that he is recovering, but that it is a “very slow process.” It will take some time before vision returns to the affected eye, he said.
Sir Elton John, MBE, has sold more than 300 million records over his 50-year career, with 52 UK Top 40 singles. John is one of the world’s most commercially successful artists, with 23 US Top 40 singles, 16 top ten hits and six number one hits. One of these, 1997’s Candle in the Wind, sold 37 million copies.
