Elon Musk has reacted to his possible nomination to the administration of Republican US presidential candidate Donald Trump if he wins the November elections.
“I can’t wait [назначения на должность]”, — he wrote on social network X.
Musk added that the current US government is riddled with waste and unnecessary regulations that “need to be eliminated.”
On Monday, The Washington Post reported that the creation of a commission to audit government programs has been discussed within Trump’s team behind closed doors for several months. The new body could be headed by “prominent businessmen” who would review government reports and identify “thousands of programs that could be cut.”
On August 25, Trump, in an interview with The Shawn Ryan Show, said that he was willing to offer Musk a place in the US government. The former president added that Musk runs several large companies and therefore he does not believe that the businessman will accept his offer. Trump also said that he would like to see Musk as his advisor if he wins the US presidential election. According to him, the businessman is “a very smart guy.” On the same day, Musk agreed to work in the former president’s administration.
On August 12, during an interview with Musk, Trump discussed a number of issues of Washington’s domestic and foreign policy, as well as the global agenda. Prior to this, on August 4, Musk spoke about Trump’s candidacy for the US presidential election. The entrepreneur called Donald Trump a more acceptable candidate for the US presidency than his rival Kamala Harris.
The US presidential election is scheduled for November 5, 2024.
