Vladimir Bure died in the US – EADaily, September 4, 2024 – Sports News, Russian News

Vladimir Bure, Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, swimmer and hockey coach, died in Miami at the age of 73, Match TV reports. According to the publication, Bure suffered a heart attack several weeks ago. He was hospitalized; the former athlete complained of severe heart pain. In 2017, Bure suffered a severe stroke and spent a month in a coma.

Vladimir Bure – father of hockey players Pablo AND Valeria Burewho played in the National Hockey League. Both are Olympic and World Championship medalists. Pavel Bure is the special representative of the Russian Hockey Federation for international affairs.

Vladimir Bure is a three-time Olympic silver and bronze medalist in swimming, two-time world silver medalist and European champion in relay in 1970. In 1972 he was awarded the title of Honored Master of Sports of the USSR.

In the late 1970s, Bure ended his sporting career and spent the next few years working as a swimming coach. In 1991, he moved to the United States.

He won Stanley Cup titles as New Jersey’s strength and conditioning coach in 2000 and 2003. From 2010 to 2012 he was vice president of CSKA, in 2015-2017 he worked as a fitness trainer for the Belarus national hockey team.
