Last night, Dolby celebrated the eighth edition of its 2024 Innovators Awardsawards with which the company recognizes the important work of its partners in the dissemination of their technologies.

- Suakaia neo-musical collective that aims to demonstrate with their productions that music is a powerful way to impact society. Suakai has mixed previous works with the immersive sound technology Dolby Atmos, but with “Natura” they have done a truly incredible job. This composition is also the first album composed in our country with Dolby Atmos in mind, so the compositional decisions were made based on the use of this technology.
- Luis del Toro, in recognition of his work as a sound engineer, surprisingly prolific for his youth, and today a reference in Dolby Atmos music mixing, not only for his moving work, nominated several times at the Latin Grammys, but for his commitment to quality and training.
- Amazon Audible Spainas one of the largest creators and distributors of quality audio entertainment, with millions of members and a catalog of more than 100,000 original audiobooks and podcasts, in addition to some sound fictions such as “The Gypsy Bride” for which Dolby awarded this award. A reward for its team in Spain, which strives to offer its customers a new way to improve and enrich their daily lives. And this is reflected in its commitment to the Dolby Atmos format and its firm commitment to promoting its adoption.
- Sony Musicfor its 5020 Studio Madrid project, the new headquarters in the capital of the emblematic studios of Miami. A project carried out by Sony Music Spain to promote creation and collaboration between Spanish and Latin artists. Three floors with work and relaxation areas and an impressive recording studio, designed and equipped with the latest technologies, such as Dolby Atmos Music, for the enjoyment of artists, music producers and multidisciplinary creators.
- RTVE’s 1 UHD, which marks a before and after in the history of broadcasting in our country. La1UHD is the first channel to offer content with immersive Dolby Atmos sound 24/7 encoded in AC-4. Thanks to this innovation, viewers enjoy an unprecedented audiovisual experience, with three-dimensional sound and unique customization options that transform their television experience.
- Studios backthe first Dolby Atmos Music certified studio in Spain. Three young people who have opted for their project, a sound recording and mixing studio dedicated to the music industry. Among its service offering, its mobile unit stands out, thanks to its modular design, it adapts to all situations but always with the highest recording quality. Thanks to it, they are able to work between platforms with 4K video and broadcast systems in real time.
- Adrien Tucker, one of the “influencers” of the moment. But Adrián Jiménez, or as he is known online, Adrian Tucker is much more. Since the age of six, his life has been linked to music. In 2016, as part of a final year project, he designed a sustainable business model through a YouTube channel where he intended to help other producers and engineers in the same situation. This channel would soon become widely recognized among professionals in the sector, opening the doors to interesting projects in Madrid. Today, the channel is still very active and has 90,000 subscribers and more than 7 million views.
- Lucas Holten, received the Person of the Year award. A new category in this edition and that Holten received for his boundless energy, friendliness and knowledge of the music industry. It is undoubtedly a recognition of this Dutchman, with a long career dedicated to music marketing, largely developed at Warner Music, who has accompanied Dolby in each new project proposed, always bringing the best of himself.
- Chema Floresis the journalist who received the press award this year. An award that highlights how important his relationship with the media and its journalists is for Dolby. At the helm of Omicrono Chema, with a team made up of great journalists and the best people, he has managed to position his media at the forefront of technology and, with his work, he contributes to spreading Dolby technologies and making known the direct impact of their use on improving the user experience when consuming entertainment content.
Where to listen to Suakai’s award-winning work
Suakai will perform the award-winning work Natura this Sunday, September 8, in Eguaras, Atetz Valley, as part of the first edition of the Music for Dreams Festivala classical and traditional music festival that brings together artists such as Oreka TX, Iñaki Diéguez Akustik Trio, Euskadiko Orkestra Percussion Group, Juan Emme or Harribitzi. The festival will be held from September 6 to 8 and will end with a performance by Suakai.
