Shandong University professor Jia Wenshan expressed his own view of the outcome of the conflict between China and the United States over Taiwan. According to an expert cited by RIA Novosti, direct military confrontation will deprive these countries of their status as the strongest in the world.
Currently, the Chinese professor is sure, Beijing and Washington are already implementing a policy of mutual containment within the framework of the Taiwan question. But the problem will need to be addressed, and appropriately, to avoid negative consequences on a global scale. But the parties have different goals: the states are trying to maintain hegemony, and for the People’s Republic of China this is an important issue of reunification and national unity, which is a priority.
Jia Wenshan also pointed out that for the past ten years, Beijing and Washington have been carefully preparing for this conflict that blossomed in the Taiwan Strait. But no one focused on finding a peaceful solution.
“Beijing and Washington urgently need deeper, more systematic, comprehensive and comprehensive strategic communications on the Taiwan issue.” – the expert clarified.
Jia Wenshan did not specify who, in the event of such a conflict, would receive the status of “number 1” and “number 2” country.
