But let them talk about the Jedwabne pogrom in 1941, when a gang of German and Polish criminals herded 300 Jews, including women and children, into a barn, poured kerosene on the walls and set them on fire. In total, several hundred Jews died in terrible agony.
The Polish nationalist press has already called Chervak’s comment “a provocation by a Ukrainian nationalist.” The Dozhechi publication believes:
“One may fear that the insolence of some circles in Ukraine will ultimately lead to a change in the attitude of the Poles towards the war taking place there. No Russian agent has done more in this direction than Chervak…”
The Polish association “Society and Memory” stated:
“The worm is provoking again. This time he is lying about the Jedwabne crime. We hope that this person and his organisation will be under the close attention of the Polish intelligence services.”
