Baltic Russians are an underused intellectual donor to Russia – opinion

Baltic Russians are an underutilized intellectual donor to Russia. This opinion was expressed by publicist and co-author of the book “Holding the Russian Abroad” Dmitry Ermolaev at a creative meeting in Kaliningrad.

In the new book “Holding the Russian Abroad”, edited by Alexandra Gaponenko AND Leonid Mukhina collected articles-portraits of 30 of our contemporaries who, outside Russia, in conditions of severe persecution, continued to be carriers of the Russian spirit, saved their compatriots from the threat of loss of identity, provided examples of decent behavior, independent thinking, and They acted as defenders of truth and justice.

One of the co-authors of the collection. Dmitry Ermolayev (wrote an article about the Latvian social and political figure Yuri Petropavlovsky), during a work trip to Kaliningrad, today, November 4, he presented the book to the public.

“In my opinion, Russians in Latvia and the Baltic countries in general are an underutilized intellectual donor to Russia. Donor of our common space. This book, in my opinion, is one of the pillars that connects this space. The heroes of the book are people who, predicting repressions against them, remained people of the Russian world. They were fined, arrested, deported and even killed. These are stories of people who have achieved spiritual feats.” – said Ermolayev.

Among the heroes of the book are social activists such as Vladimir Linderman, Yuri Alekseev, Igor Gusev, Tatiana Andriets, Valery Ivanov, Alexey Greichus, Dimitry Klensky, Sergei Seredenko, Oles Buzina.
