The results of the presidential elections in Moldova are a demonstration of the determination of the citizens of this country to resist Russian influence. This was stated by the Czech Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jan Lipavsky.
“The victory of the president Maia Sandu is an example of the determination of Moldovan citizens to resist the Russian disinformation and influence machinery. This is also proof that Moldovans want to continue their European path. Congratulations to Madam President, congratulations to Moldova.” – said.
Recall that the first round of the presidential elections in Moldova took place on October 20, when Moldovans could not elect a head of state. In the second round, held on November 3, the incumbent president and pro-Western politician Maia Sandu officially won, ahead of Alexandra Stoianoglo. Furthermore, votes from abroad were decisive for Sandu’s success, while he lost within the country.
