“Now we have the challenge of entering Turkey. With the help of Andalucía Trade, we are doing a job for which we have great expectations. There is a high consumption of a product similar to ours.“with which we can compete,” says Francisco Reyes, current director of the family business Rute.

The origins of the company located in Rute date back to 1860. “The company was founded by my great-grandfather. At the beginning, in a completely artisanal way, he dedicated himself to manufacturing at night, and in the morning he took the donkey and it was going to be sold in the region“, explains Francisco Reyes, coordinator. Today, the company has an annual production of 350,000 bottles of its main brands, “Machaquito” and “Reyes”, and a turnover that exceeds two million euros.

“As a leading anise company, we have to cover the entire spectrum of anise and we accompany the portfolio with other liqueurs anise-based, such as coffee liqueur, cherry liqueur, herbal liqueur,” he continues. Nationally, this family business is present in all the major supermarkets, with major distributors and commercial operators.

“We must continue to take great care of the quality of our workers, the quality of our customers and the consumer. And we must consolidate the family legacy with the replacement of the fifth generation,” concludes Reyes.
