Ten minutes after two in the morning, an individual informed 112 Galicia that a fishing boat moored at the new dock of Camariñas was on fire. He also explained that the flames had already reached the command post and that explosions were heardwithout anyone being affected.
From 112, the Maritime Rescue, the Gardacostas Service of Galicia, the Civil Guard, the Firefighters of Cee and Carballo and the Group of Volunteers of Civil Protection of Camariñas were informed.

However, they confirmed that no other nearby ship was in danger. In addition, the Xunta activated the Territorial Emergency Plan for Accidental Marine Pollution in alert phase to contain and control a possible spill due to the fire.
Shortly before nine o’clock in the morning, the Carballo firefighters reported that the fire was brought under controlalthough they continued to work towards its total extinction, with only the ship it originated on being affected.
Maritime rescue action
From Maritime Rescue, they explained that after two in the morning, 112 informed the Rescue Coordination Center (CCS) of Fisterra that the fishing boat Jaungoikoa was on fire at its mooring in the port of Camariñas, with no crew on board.
The maritime rescue vessel Salvamar Altair, based in Camariñas, was mobilized to the scene and is trying to extinguish the fire. Given the risk of deflagrations, due to the presence of cylinders inside, “the extinguishing work was carried out with great caution, ultimately requiring the withdrawal for safety reasons of the crew itself“.
