The volunteers of the Civil Protection group of the city of Toledo are accompanied by a van from the Torrijos group to be able to transport all the donated material
Civil Protection volunteers from Huecas, a town in Toledo with around 900 inhabitants, left this afternoon for the Valencian town of Cullera with abundant humanitarian aid for those affected by DANA. A vehicle in this group equipped with a cart mainly transports medical equipment, meeting the demand made from Paiporta, one of the most damaged towns. They are accompanied by a van from the group from the neighboring municipality of Torrijos to be able to transport all the goods they have collected.
They carry colostomy bags, used to allow drainage of stools; a large number of masks offered by the Huecas town hall; lots of clothes, baby food and feminine hygiene, as well as cleaning products, because they already have little. “And also lots of water and milk,” explains Aránzazu, one of the volunteers.
“People in and around town went out of their way to buy it from stores to bring it in.”account. They also carry around four thousand dressings donated by Civil Protection volunteers from Bargas, in addition to the material collected by the Arcicóllar group.
Once unloaded at the Cullera Group headquarters, both vehicles will immediately return to Torrijos and Huecas in case they need to return to Valencia with more material. They are already collecting food for celiacs and food for animalsas requested by the Valencian municipality.
