The general director of Fire Prevention, Rosa Touris, reported on the latest work carried out in the field, after the last meeting of Cecopi (Integrated Center for Operational Coordination), during which the president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, and the Minister of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, Ángel Víctor Torres, participated. Touris stressed that the work is taking place at different paces depending on the impact that DANA has had in each of the three areas into which the operation has been subdivided.
In the regions of Ribera Alta and Ribera Baja, work to remove property continues and a return to normal is expected in the near future. In the Requena-Utiel area, infrastructure restoration and cleaning works are being completed.
In the L’Horta Sud area, the margin for carrying out emergency tasks, depending on the degree of impact of each municipality, is between 20 and 50%, as detailed by those responsible for the operation during the meeting. This area is still in the search phase for possible victims, for which drones are also used, especially in the area of the Magro River and the Rambla del Poyo. This research is supplemented by canine tracking units.
Coordination of the organization
Touris stressed that all the organizations represented at Cecopi “please thank the coordination of all the security, emergency and armed forces that participate in the different sectors of the operation, as well as the volunteers.” In the meantime, he added, the search for possible victims continues to be a priority and other actions are underway, such as the removal of waste, property and vehicles, drainage of water , overhaul of building structures, canals, roads and railways, as well as installations. distribution of water, electricity and gas.
Additionally, it was also reported that 98% of electricity service has already been restored and 93% of the affected population now has water supply. However, as a precautionary measure, Cecopi “until all microbiological analyzes are carried out”, recommends the use of bottled water for human consumption, but the remainder can be used for cleaning.
