The President of the Provincial Council of Cordoba, Salvador Fuentes, presented this Wednesday at Genil Bridgea new water pipeline project to improve the supply of the entire southern zone of the province of Cordoba (a total of 29 municipalities, approximately 250,000 users) and which will be divided into two phases.

Technical problems
In his speech, Fuentes was accompanied by the director of the Emproacsa el pontanés, Manuel Martinwho technically detailed this project that will consist, in the first phase, of a ductile iron pipeline with an internal diameter of 1000 millimeters, connected to the existing branches and equipped with the necessary suction cups and valves. “The first section is the most critical – said Martín – since it is from there that the entrained water comes.”
For his part, the mayor of Genil Bridge, Sergio Velasco, Also present at this appearance, he thanked “the extraordinary collaboration between the Provincial Council and the City Hall”, highlighting the significant investments in water in the municipality with more than 700,000 euros. The local councilor took advantage of his intervention to announce that in the second half of September (around the 20th), the completely renovated window of the main water tank of the municipality, located in the industrial zone of Saint Pancras and the repair action will begin on the second glass.
Likewise, Velasco also stated, regarding the call for tenders for the renewal of the sewer network of the Cañada de la Plata urbanization, that the submission of offers will be valid until September 13 for an amount of 86,440 euros.
“Works that will provide a solution to the flooding problems that have affected homes and caused great concern in the neighborhoods,” concluded the mayor.
