The Portuguese Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade (AICEP) has granted the degree of potential national interest of the PIN to the VVR Green renewable hydrogen production project of international renewable hydrogen developer DH2 Energy.
He PIN status is a project support system which are considered to be of particular interest by economic factors and for its positive impact in Portugal, which accelerates the processing of the project.
VVR Green Project
DH2 Energy’s VVR Green project consists of a production plant for renewable hydrogen located in an industrial area in Vila Velha de Ródão, in Castelo Branco, which is located advanced state of developmentThe initiative will contribute to the decarbonization of industry at local and regional levels.
From DH2 Energy, they emphasize that the plant located in the center of the country “is one of the few green hydrogen projects to have obtained PIN status in Portugal“.
Photovoltaic self-consumption
It’s a renewable hydrogen production plant with photovoltaic self-consumption and connection to the grid. Initially, the plant will have an electrolysis capacity of 35 MW and a photovoltaic block of 49 MWc.
Production will increase during this first phase until approximately 1,650 tonnes of renewable hydrogen per yearSubsequently, an extension of the project is planned to 75 MW of electrolysis and 100 MWc of photovoltaics.
