Its profile attracts attention from any point along the last stretch of the West Ring. And it is impossible not to see it. The giant guitar Flamenco Park has become in just two months its emblem. The originality of this impressive children’s attraction encourages you to get to know it closely. We tell you five peculiarities of this “guitar”.
Everything is nice
There is no corner of the big guitar that cannot be used for the enjoyment of the little ones. Game of metal bars, rope climbers, several slides, fire bars, ladders and ring games… This means that the attraction can be occupied by a large number of children at the same time, also due to the distribution of each of the elements.
Eight-meter slides with “surprises”
The main slides are located on the mast of the huge instrument, which powerfully attract the attention of the little ones, eager to jump into the two covered tubes which intertwine in the shape of a corkscrew.
Both are located 8.5 meters highin the doll that crowns the neck and hides two “surprises”. The first is that to access it you have to climb a steep slab that causes dizziness and, as it is not padded, also irritations. The other is the degree of inclination of the slide ramps, especially the first of them, which triggers a great acceleration during the descent, which does not stop, in the vast majority of cases, until the buttocks reach the soft rubber floor.
In the mouth of the guitar
One area of the guitar that few people discover is the platform which allows it to be placed just behind the mouth of the instrument. Those who find it already have the photo they are looking for in the center of the gigantic attraction.
Large recreational area and water games
The big guitar and the gymnastics area to its right will not stay alone for long. The flamenco park will be completed by a large indoor children’s recreational area that will exceed the 30 meters long by 15 meters widewith several swings and inclusive games, and which will be located in La Arruzafilla Park. In addition, it will be adjacent to another water playground that is also to be built.
The Shadow Controversy
The inauguration last July of the guitar was not without controversy, since it is not the best month to open the attraction. And the high temperatures of the summer months have made it practically impossible to enjoy it since the temperature reaches more than 40 degrees due to the materials that compose it.
In addition, the area, with newly planted treesstill lacks shade and sufficient fountains, which is why the families who came did so at sunset or early in the morning.
