The Foreign Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that in a statement published after the report of the French press agency, Cecil Koller and his partner, Jacques Paris, were conducted in a completely arbitrary way, receiving information that said that the spying was accused of the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad.
The French diplomatic source added that if this report is confirmed, the prosecution is “unreasonably”, emphasizing that the couple is innocent against accusations against them.
In May, France filed a lawsuit against the International Court against Iran, accusing Tehran of violating the right to the consulate, trying to provide him in connection with the continuation of the detention of Kalra and Paris, which were arrested since May 2022.
It should be noted that in recent years, Iranian revolutionary guards arrested dozens of foreigners and dual citizenship, often on charges of espionage.
Human rights organizations and Western countries accuse Iran of using these detainees as a pressure map in the negotiations that Caro denies.
