Parents gather and crowd at shops selling school supplies and clothing as the school year begins. The most noticeable place for this crowd is the Baku Sewing House, which produces and sells school uniforms.
Is the institution observing the density caused by parents and students in recent years? How many school uniforms were sold?
Etibar Azimov, sales director of Baku Sewing House (BTE), told Bizim.Media in a statement that the number of school uniform buyers is very small:
“We have 11 stores in Baku, and most of them are in the regions. Sales are 10 times lower. Parents come one by one, there is no agitation. The first year, because the decision was made late, it was not possible. But in the second and third years we produced everything we needed. This year we have produced more than 100,000 school uniforms. It will be possible to say exactly how many have been sold, but only 10-15 percent have been sold.”
He believes that the reason for the decline in sales is the production of counterfeit clothing:
“The whole republic is full of fake school uniforms. Everyone goes and buys uniforms for 5 or 6 AZN. Fake school uniforms are harmful to the human body. I don’t understand why people don’t understand this. We even lowered prices so that people could buy quality clothes. But that didn’t work either. The price of a polo shirt was 15 manats, now we have reduced it to 9 manats, the difference is only 3 manats. Trousers and skirts have been reduced by 20 percent.
