The Valencians suspend Sánchez, Mazón, Marlaska and Robles and give notable arrest to Felipe and Letizia for their conduct

The incidents experienced this Sunday in the Valencian city of Paiporta They expressed strong dissatisfaction with those responsible for handling the DANA tragedy. In this context, the latest Sociometrica survey for EL ESPAÑOL reveals that citizens are suspending the action of politicians.

The Spaniards in general and the Valencians in particular suspend the president of the government, Pedro Sanchez; to the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazonand the ministers Fernando Grande Marlaska (Inside) and Marguerite Robles (Defense).

However, they support the actions of Philip VI And Letiziaand they approve them with a grade. Both went to Paiporta this Sunday and decided to stay in the town, despite the risk to their safety. Mazón also held his ground. Sánchez, on the other hand, was evacuated by his security services.

The Sociometrica survey shows that, despite the fact that politicians try to assign responsibilities to each other, citizen discontent is widespread and transversal. Although there are leaders who get lower grades than others.

The least appreciated of all is the president of the government. The Valencians give Sanchez a score of 2.6, a figure that drops even further, to 2.4, when asked of all Spaniards. By party, only voters from left-wing parties approve of Sánchez’s management, although very slightly.

The rating given by voters Add is 5.1. Those of PSOE They give it a 5.3.

The president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazonobtains 2.5 from Spaniards and only 3 from inhabitants of the Valencian Community for its management of the crisis. Although he obtains a better average score than Sánchez, Mazón is the only leader in the survey who receives a failure from voters of all parties, including his own.

At the national level, PP voters are also disappointed with Mazón’s management but they penalize him less and give him a score of 3.9. Of course, PSOE (1.7) or Podemos (0.2) voters are much more severe in their assessment.

With better grades, even if they also failed, are Marlaška (3.6 among the Valencians) and Marguerite Robles (3.2). In the investigation, the only authorities who approve are Felipe VI and Letizia, although they are also the only ones who do not have executive functions.

The decision to stay this Sunday in Paiporta to console the neighbors found an echo among the Valencians, who give the Kings an even higher rating than that given to the rest of the Spaniards. Philip VI obtains a 7.6 for the Valencians and a 7.1 for the rest of the Spaniards, while Letizia It gets a 7.7 for a 7.1.

The Valencians place great value on the Queen. Images of Letizia crying while comforting her neighbors and asking for forgiveness may have sparked greater empathy among citizens.

The survey also asks for the opinions of different institutions and, in collaboration with central government, also Emergency services in the Valencian Community are suspended. They are the only ones currently working in the field whose work does not reach the approved level.

The discontent could be due to the fact that many citizens criticize the fact that DANA’s notices arrived late (a responsibility that also falls on Mazón), as did the aid.

THE Civil Guard (7.9 for the Spaniards and 8 for the Valencians) and the Army (7.5 and 8.1), on the other hand, receive a notable peak.

But the most valued is the civil society. The tragedy brought out the best in thousands of people who, in the absence of a quick response from authorities, stepped up, either by donating or participating in the cleanup efforts. Valencians give civil society a score of 9.1, which falls slightly to 8.7 among Spaniards as a whole.

Technical sheet

The study was carried out by the company SocioMétrica between November 3 and 4, 2024 through 1,712 random interviews extracted from its own panel of n=10,000 individuals representative of all Spanish socio-demographic segments.

The final results were finely adjusted using a weighting variable that takes into account gender, age, province and electoral memory during the last three elections.

Maximum error: 3% (SocioMétrica’s average deviation in voting in gen23 was 1.1% and in eu24 was 0.8%). No confidence level is applicable as this is non-probability sampling.
