JAKARTA – The entrance 14 hours after the incident with the sinking ship KMP Tun Pratama Jaya in the waters of the Bali Strait, the combined command of SAR, led by Basarnas, continues to strengthen the search and evacuation operations. Before Wednesday (3/7/2025), up to 15 ships were deployed for combing the sea and coastal areas. As many as 30 people are still missing.
The head of the search and assistance department in Surabay, Naning Sigit, explained that the operation was divided into several sectors from the degree of coating of the region. At the initial stages, sweeping over a radius of 6 sea miles from the point of the point is carried out.
But after several victims were found outside the region, Basarnas expanded the search scale.
“First, we focus evacuation on the surface of the water. The ship sank in full condition, so we did not exclude the possibility of victims that were still trapped inside the ship, ”he explained.
Basarnas also requested cooperation with fishermen and other cross ships, which crossed the Ketapagang-Gilimanuk route to help control whether they saw the location of the victim.
“The movement in the Bali Strait is very crowded. We ask for the help of all those who pass by to participate in the reporting if they find signs of the location of the victims, ”he added.
