The ship was on the way to the island of Indonesian rest when it fell on a strong wind and sea. At least four out of 65 passengers were killed.
According to emergency services in Surabay, 65 people were on the passenger list of the KMP Tun Pratama Jaya ship, including twelve crew members. Therefore, the ferry was on the road from Banwang in East Java to Gilimanuk in Bali and fell at about 11:20 pm. The ship transported the ship, including 14 trucks, emergency services continued.
KMP Tun Pratama Jaya fell about 25 minutes after it was lying, he said. Four survivors were able to save themselves with the help of a ferry rescue boat. First of all, inflatable boats were sent to the scene for a rescue operation, and then to a large boat. More than 50 police officers and military fleet took part in search of the missing person.
According to emergency services, it was initially difficult to get to the ship from the weather conditions. Waves up to 2.5 meters high and “strong wind and strong current” would affect rescue work. The cause of the accident was initially suspected in bad weather. It is also reported that the shipping company reported damage to the car.
It is unclear whether foreign people were under passengers
According to their own statements, rescue workers checked whether there could be more people on the ship than in the list of passengers. This often happens in Indonesia.
The ferry from Java on Bali is about an hour, and it is often used by people who want to take their vehicles with them. Initially, it was unclear whether foreigners were among passengers.
Bali is a vacation spot that is popular with international tourists. Delivery gaps are relatively common at the South -Eastern Asian archipelago with its approximately 17,000 islands, which is associated with weaker security standards.
In March, a boat of 16 people rolled over on board in front of Bali, and the Australian killed. In 2018, more than 150 people drowned when the ferry sank in one of the deepest lakes in the world on the island of Sumatra.
