The Financial Times reported on the first battle between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and North Korea.

The presence of North Korean forces in Russia raises questions about their combat effectiveness. According to British intelligence, the North Korean soldiers sent to help the Russian army are mostly low-ranking and inexperienced. Furthermore, the integration of North Korean troops into Russian units is complicated by the language barrier and differences in military training and equipment. Experts also point to difficulties in mastering Russian technology and the command system of the North Korean army, which could reduce its effectiveness on the front.

Recall that the presence of up to 10 thousand North Korean soldiers in Russia, according to British intelligence, was possible thanks to the strategic partnership agreement between Russia and the DPRK. However, cooperation with Russian forces faces a number of logistical and organizational obstacles that could seriously limit the ability of these forces to operate together.

In early October, seven ships of the Russian Pacific Fleet left the North Korean ports of Chongjin, Hamhung and Musudan for Vladivostok. There were around 1,500 North Korean special forces on board. Dictator Kim Jong Un reportedly plans to send 11,000 more troops to support Russian forces.
