The state of natural disaster has been recognized in 375 municipalities, according to a decree published in Official GazetteTuesday, November 5. This state of natural disaster was recognized mainly by the exceptional floods that occurred from October 16 to 20 and which especially affected the Central East and the South.

This text, which affects eleven departments, paves the way for insurance compensation. The affected municipalities are located in Ardèche, Rhône, Loire, Alpes-Maritimes, Yvelines, Essonne, Lozère, Loire-Atlantique, Eure et Loir, Haute-Loire and Corrèze. Almost all affected municipalities were affected by floods and landslides during the period from October 16 to 20, 2024.

The Central East was particularly affected, especially Ardèche. In total, more than a thousand people were evacuated, roads, railways and schools were closed and several thousand homes were deprived of electricity.
