Milestones in the world of sport
Sofi Stadium, located in the heart of California, is home to the Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers, and its technical design is a feat in the sports infrastructure sector.
It is designed as a multidisciplinary space, for which it has an event level located 30 meters below ground level, a American Airlines Square 2.5 acre indoor outdoor installation or universal installation Infinite screen Samsung, which presents itself as one of the most impressive mega video screens in the world of sport, with 12-meter high panels. It also has 260 luxury suites, where every detail is taken care of to the maximum to impress and take care of its visitors.
It has also been the scene of one of the most sporting events and, in 2024, it hosted events such as the SuperBowl or the Copa América football and is preparing to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Olympic Games.

New York without Madison Square Garden or Yankee Stadium?
No, it is impossible to think of the city of skyscrapers and not think of the NFL stadiums developed by the Spanish company, with an international weight that is growing every day. Regarding Madison Square Garden, Turner renovated the old facilities in just 41 months so that the stage could continue to welcome sports fans.
On the current field, New York Knicks, Rangers or New York Liberty games are played, as well as boxing matches – the fight between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier still resonates -, martial arts exhibitions or any event – even political – that requires a large capacity in New York. And the complex invites you to meet, thanks to the presence of a conference center, a cinema, a theater and a sports field.
On its part, in New York itself, Yankee Stadium also plays a prominent role when talking about NFL sports and pastimes. This Turner construction in the city has a capacity of 52,000 seats and is known as The Cathedral of Baseball, which the company worked on for about three years.
The façade stands out because the exterior was prefabricated, with granite cladding and a copper frieze, which recalls memories of the old building from the 1920s. Highlight the work of the façade, with this evocation of what it was, but also that Yankee Stadium is considered by Turner to be one of the first generation BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology projects of this magnitude.

Specifically, the company’s team configured the 3D model of the steel structure and the exterior wall well before the production of the materials, and thanks to the BIM application, it was able to identify constructability issues during planning. This includes, for example, pipe configurations that do not fit together. In response to this, the team developed a collaborative approach between architects and engineers, achieving an ambitious result that gave even more skill to Turner regarding complex problem solving.
Another of the spectacular sports infrastructures of the ACS in the United States is undoubtedly the Lumen Field, with a capacity of 67,000 seats. It is one of the youngest stadiums in the NFL and matches from Seattle, Washington are played there, such as: the Seattle Sounders FC of the MLS, the Seattle Reign FC of the NWSL and the most important of all: the Seattle Seahawks.
Its enigmatic design is striking, arranged to accommodate NFL fans, who are surrounded by the concrete and aluminum used in the infrastructure, leaving part of the playing field open, allowing views of the city, the enjoyment of the game and the great sound and excitement of the supporters.
Unite the enthusiasm of NFL fans and their teams
Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California also has the ACS seal of approval and experience in building sports facilities. In this case, it has a capacity of 68,000, which is why it has become the city’s preferred event space. To date, it has hosted more than 100 major events, with an average of 20 events per year. It also has 165 luxury suites and 9,000 club seats, designed with versatile flexibility to accommodate a wide range of events, allowing for expansions for large events.
Regarding sustainability, in July 2016, Levi’s Stadium received certification LEED Gold for the operation and maintenance of an existing building after opening the stadium in 2014 with LEED New Construction certification, making the venue the only one of its kind to be recognized twice for meeting industry standards for sustainable design and construction. While not the only recognition, it was also named the 2017 Environmental Stadium of the Year by The stadium business, the installation of merit by the NFL or the 2015 Sports Facility of the Year by Sports Business Journalamong other recognitions.
Latest News: Los Angeles Clippers’ Intuit Dome
This same week, in fact, Grupo ACS, in joint venture with AECOM Hunt, celebrated the inauguration of the Los Angeles Clippers’ Intuit Dome sports stadium, right next to SoFi Stadium. A space with a capacity of 17,700 people, valued at $2 billion and equipped with the latest technology. The doors opened with a mega concert by Bruno Mars, for which tickets have long been sold out.
Solar panels were used on the roofs and the entire stadium has battery storage to be self-sufficient in renewable energy, avoiding carbon emissions. The Intuit Dome is fully electrified, contributing to the energy transition, so it does not produce pollution from natural gas or fossil fuels. The project was designed by Turner to achieve LEED-Platinum certification, the highest possible sustainability rating for the American Green Building Council.
The Intuit Dome is also expected to generate $260 million a year in economic activity in Inglewood, where it is located. This generation of local wealth around the home of the Los Angeles Clippers will help maintain shared community spaces such as parks, libraries, and police and fire stations.
