Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are working on a car assembly project

Azerbaijani and Uzbek companies Azermash are working on organizing assembly of Chevrolet Cobalt cars using CKD (Complete Knock Down) technology.

This was reported by the “Trend” agency.

The information states that the production volume of the Cobalt model is designed to produce 15,000 vehicles per year, and its launch is planned for 2025.

Within the framework of cooperation, production of Chevrolet Tracker and Chevrolet Onix cars continues at the Hajigabul plant.

It should be noted that in Uzbekistan the production capacity of passenger cars, trucks, commercial and special equipment, as well as buses exceeds 500,000 units per year.

Major car manufacturing companies in Uzbekistan are UzAuto Motors, MAN Auto Uzbekistan, SamAuto and ADM Jizzax. The country has also started production of BYD (Build Your Dreams) electric cars.

In turn, the machine-building industry is developing in Azerbaijan. Large enterprises are Azermash, AzSamand, commercial and truck production plants in the cities of Ganja and Nakhchivan.

It is worth noting that the Uzbekistan-Azerbaijani Business Forum was held in Tashkent on August 22. As a result of the negotiations, a portfolio of projects worth $2 billion was formed.
