The radical Palestinian movement Hamas threatens to kill more hostages held in the Gaza Strip.
Oku.AzAccording to TASS, a senior representative of the US administration said this at a special online briefing for journalists.
“We have a list of hostages, Hamas and all the parties to the negotiations, and now there are fewer names on the list. This is terrible, and Hamas is threatening to kill more hostages,” he said.
“For every hostage there is a certain number of prisoners who must be released, and now we have fewer hostages than are part of the first phase of the deal. It is tragic and terrible. It affects us all,” the official said. Referring to the killing of six hostages, he added a smaller number of Palestinian prisoners in response to the question of whether the exchange is planned or not.
On September 1, Daniel Hagari, an official representative of the Israeli military, said that the bodies of six Israeli hostages were found in one of the underground tunnels near the city of Rafah on the evening of August 31.
