The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that there is no data on the transfer of space technologies to the DPRK

Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Andrei Rudenko told reporters that he has no information about the alleged supply of Russian space technologies to the DPRK.

“I don’t have that information.” – he said when asked to comment on relevant publications in the South Korean media, quoted by TASS.

Rudenko noted that the agreement between Moscow and Pyongyang on a comprehensive strategic partnership responds to geopolitical reality:

“The need to conclude this agreement is due to two reasons. First of all, it concerns the new nature of relations between the Russian Federation and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, which have developed in recent years.” – said.

“The second reason is the new geopolitical reality that has emerged after 2022, as well as the processes that are now developing in Northeast Asia, around the Korean Peninsula; These processes are mainly related to the policies followed by the United States and its allies in; this region, expressed in the pumping of weapons into this region, the deployment there of new advanced systems, including those with a nuclear component, and the formation of new political-military alliances,” – pointed out the diplomat.

The Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement was signed during the visit of the Russian president Vladimir Putin in the DPRK on June 18 and 19. The document provides for the development of economic ties between countries, military-technical cooperation, as well as the provision of mutual military assistance in the event of an attack on one of the parties.
