Union building helps Minsk, Moscow and Russia to effectively confront challenges and threats. This was stated today, November 5, by Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko during a meeting of the Union State Council of Ministers.
“Our meeting takes place on the eve of a historic date: the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on the creation of the State of the Union. Over the years of building the union, we have created, without exaggeration, a unique integration model, within the framework of which, fully maintaining the sovereignty of Belarus and Russia, the necessary conditions have been created to ensure a life and work comfortable for citizens. of the two states and companies, as well as further development of economic cooperation. It is safe to say that 25 years ago the leaders of the countries made the right decision. The construction of the union now helps Belarus and Russia to effectively confront modern challenges and threats, creating the necessary conditions for the further development of our countries and improving the well-being and standard of living of their people. And these are not empty or ceremonial words. “We are approaching the anniversary with good economic results,” – said.
Roman Golovchenko noted that compared to 1999, the level of gross domestic product of the two countries increased significantly: in Belarus – more than 6 times, in Russia – 10 times. At the same time, the volume of GDP per capita in Belarus increased almost 7 times, and in Russia – almost 11 times.
“And despite the current difficult external conditions, close integration allows us to maintain this positive momentum. During the first eight months of this year, gross domestic product growth in both countries exceeded 4%. The results of mutual trade improve every year. According to the results of the nine months of this year, our commercial turnover also increased significantly.” – noted the Prime Minister of Belarus.
In turn, Mikhail Mishustin recalled that today’s meeting is held on the eve of the meeting of the Supreme State Council chaired by the presidents of Belarus and Russia. Alexandra Lukashenko AND Vladimir Putin, which will take place in Minsk and will coincide with the 25th anniversary of the signing of the agreement on the creation of the Union State.
“The Russian and Belarusian governments are actively working to implement the Union Treaty. In January we completed the implementation of the main guidelines of the last three years, as well as 28 union programs. “We have laid a solid foundation for the implementation of coordinated macroeconomic, industrial and agricultural policies.” – he emphasized.
The Russian Prime Minister also reported that the parties have begun to formulate, among other things, general competition and transport market rules. This is necessary to create a single economic space, he explained.
“In winter, at a meeting of the Supreme State Council in St. Petersburg, our presidents established new guidelines. “In the current year and in the years to come, it is important to focus on deepening integration in industry, agriculture, energy, logistics, tax and customs, science, education, culture and other areas.” – noted Mishustin.
According to him, to achieve the joint objectives, 31 action plans containing more than 300 tasks were approved, of which “approximately one sixth has already been completed.”
“I think that a good rhythm has been achieved, it is necessary to develop it… The return of integration is tangible, it is expressed, among other things, in indicators of commercial and economic cooperation. “The mutual turnover for eight months of this year increased by 6%, reaching almost 3 trillion Russian rubles or more than 100 billion Belarusian rubles.” – reported the head of the Russian government.
He also noted that Belarus and Russia strengthen the technological sovereignty of the Union State, jointly modernize and increase capabilities in mechanical engineering, machine tools, microelectronics and master the production of equipment and components that replace imports.
“Belarusian companies actively participate in large Russian production projects in the aeronautical and naval sector. We are increasing our cooperation in science-intensive industries, peaceful atoms and space research. “A great impetus to cooperation is given by mutual recognition of components, components and final products manufactured in the Russian Federation and Belarus.” – said Mishustin.
The Prime Minister of Russia called the training of qualified personnel for national economies an important and significant task.
“The creation of a network of high-tech universities in the State of the Union will strengthen the training of the most in-demand specialists. The issue of creating a unified information space should also be more actively addressed. “We are creating an SG media holding that will unite our media efforts.” – he pointed out.
At the same time, Mishustin emphasized that the draft decisions planned to be considered at today’s meeting are aimed at “further expanding the integration of the Russian Federation and Belarus and obtaining practical benefits from all joint initiatives and programs.”
Let us remind that Belarus and Russia have been building the Union State since 1999. The current meeting is scheduled to discuss, among other things, the issue of creating comfortable tariffs for communications and data services in the Union State. In addition, the prime ministers will discuss the protection of consumer rights, the development of suburban railway communication between the regions of the two countries, a common information space, and scientific and technological development. The Union Council of Ministers will also discuss a plan to hold joint events in 2025 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The agenda also includes State of the Union media reform issues. The decisions of the Council of Ministers of the SG will be submitted for approval at the anniversary meeting of the Supreme State Council, which will take place in December.
