Armenia continues its mission to be a tool in the hands of foreign forces. In particular, the European Union (EU) stands out in this direction, which has been stationed on the territory of Armenia for more than a year and carries out military intelligence activities under the name of a civil mission. However, this project, carried out by the West, creates obstacles to ensuring regional security and its damage may affect Armenia first. Because this factor prevents the normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan and the signing of the final peace agreement. In this context, the mission increases the number of its representatives and extends its duration, and French explorers are located on the border with Azerbaijan with their flags under the name of the mission. This shows that France is directly leading the process and has not only not given up its intention to implement its insidious plans by turning Armenia into a tool, but has even intensified it. But what does this trend indicate and what can it lead to in the future?
Member of parliament Ramil Hasan Okhu.AzIn his statement he stated that the policy of defamation and partial pressure against Azerbaijan has entered a new stage:
“Of course, this is not only related to COP29, but also part of France’s disgusting policy against Azerbaijan. Because after Britain withdrew from the European Union in 2016, just when France claimed to be hegemonic in the EU , also controls the In the countries of the Caucasus is building a strange and absurd dream: in this process it uses Armenia as an outpost.”
“In this sense, we see that France is more active in the regions of Zangezur, Gafan and Garakilsa under the name of the EU observation mission. Even intelligence officers raise the French flag and show that the mission is under the auspices of this country. is the collection of intelligence information, the rapid arming of Armenia and others, since this occurs in the background of such processes, is undoubtedly an indicator of the element of threat that the states that want to put pressure are hiding in this process. to Azerbaijan. under the banner of an observation mission and using damaging factors against Azerbaijan,” the deputy noted.
He added that these activities will not have any negative impact on Azerbaijan:
“Today, taking such measures in the context of the processes carried out to regulate and establish interstate relations and the signing of a peace treaty at the will of the President of Azerbaijan will only harm Armenia itself. Azerbaijan cannot be harmed. This is impossible, because Azerbaijan is a strong state and has enough resources to respond to any threat on the ground. The most perfect example of this was demonstrated by the Azerbaijani state, the Azerbaijani people and the Azerbaijani army.
political scientist Ayten Gurbanova also Oku.AzIn his statement he said that the European Union has deployed a military intelligence group on the territory of Armenia under the name of a civil mission:
“Although the group was intended to be deployed in Armenia with short-term objectives, we see that it has already become a long-term and even permanent mission. While operating on the territory of Armenia, this mission serves to form an anti- Azerbaijani position by observing the processes in the region and transmitting distorted information to the world community Therefore, no one can claim that a militarized mission will contribute to peace and stability in the region with civilian and humanitarian objectives.
“The main objective of this partial mission is to create conflict centers in the region and, through them, protect the interests of the West in the region, to be more precise, maintain its presence. Armenia is a state that has sacrificed its sovereignty to regional and global actors for a long time, so the name of the EU civil mission that allows it to operate on the territory of Armenia under this agreement also gives reason to say that Yerevan continues to play the role of an instrument to ensure the interests of the West in the region,” added the political scientist.
He noted that currently the EU is responsible as one of the main executors of this process:
“Because it is the EU civilian mission that tries to create tension by fomenting artificial conflicts in the region.”
military expert Azer Bayramov while Oku.AzIn his statement he evaluated the location of the European Union civil mission near Armenia’s conventional border with Azerbaijan as an indicator of the hypocritical intentions of this country and its sponsor France:
“According to the agreement, their activities were limited in number and at the same time for a short period of time, but unfortunately, as always, they did not respect the word they gave and the signature they signed. We observe the expansion of the composition of this team and especially “The extension of time is clear proof of their hypocritical intentions and provocative activities.”
“In particular, it should be noted that the representatives sent by France as part of the civil mission to Naukarya are former soldiers of the French gendarmerie. If we look at the personnel structure, we can see that they are subordinate to the armed forces. Within that gendarmerie they operate mainly three divisions or groups: the anti-terrorist and special operations group known as the Marine Gendarmerie and the GIGN It is through these groups that France committed sabotage in the colonial countries and sent representatives of that group to the border region with Azerbaijan under the. name of a civil mission that only they themselves can believe such nonsense,” said the expert.
He noted that Azerbaijan keeps the current situation under strict control.
“This means that these activities will not give any advantage to the Armenian side. Because the situation and the initiative on the conditional border, both technically and visually, are under our control. I should also note that one of the main activities of that gendarmerie is carrying carrying out intelligence activities Visually, the borders of Azerbaijan. Observing them with binoculars shows their obvious hypocritical intentions. However, the Armenian side must not forget that it must trust its sponsors and give up its provocative activities, because such a mission will not be able to do so. “We will help Armenia if it takes appropriate measures.”
“I believe that such provocative behavior is designed to aggravate the current situation and, especially on the eve of COP29, irritate Azerbaijan and drag it into a conflict. But this will not bring good results for Armenia and its sponsors, and the responsibility of what happened will fall on the military and political leadership of Armenia and the countries that support it,” Bayramov concluded.
