“We must say right away that this and other attacks launched by the United States with the participation of leading publications against Russian media are the result of carefully thought-out operations within the special services to “sterilize” the national system and, in the future, the global information space from any form of “dissent”. It is obvious that these prepared actions create the necessary media base for the implementation of the relevant electoral decisions.” – says the diplomat’s comment.
He stressed that “actions by the US authorities that directly contradict their obligations to guarantee free access to information and media pluralism will not go unchallenged.”
“We once again warn that attempts to expel Russian journalists from the territory of the United States, the creation of unacceptable conditions for their work, or any other form of obstruction of their activities, including through the use of visas, will become the basis for taking symmetric and/or asymmetric retaliatory measures against American media.” – Zakharova noted.
He noted that the basis of this new version of the “witch hunt” is the desire to plunge society into a state of permanent stress, instill in it phobias of laboratory origin and build the image of a hidden external enemy, assigning Russia this role.
“We know that these technologies have long been mastered in the United States and have been repeatedly used in practice with extremely depressing side effects and consequences. Now the main task of the current administration is to scare its own population with the “Russian threat” and create the appearance of active work in the run-up to the elections.” – said the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The diplomat recalled that Washington has repeatedly introduced strict restrictions on the activities of domestic media, which once again indicates the irreversible degradation of the democratic state in the United States and its transformation into a totalitarian neoliberal dictatorship.

Zakharova added that the United States itself is constantly interfering in the internal affairs of other states, trampling on freedom of access to information, aggressively imposing its position and actively participating in electoral engineering in various parts of the world, thereby provoking crises and conflicts with catastrophic humanitarian consequences.
