In Yevlakh, the hearing has ended in the criminal case of Rashad Asadov, former director of the secondary school in the village of Garamammadli, accused of embezzling more than 53,000 manats from teachers’ salaries.
Pravda.az reports that the verdict was read out at the trial presided over by Yevlakh District Court Judge Kamil Aliyev.
According to the court’s verdict, Rashad Asadov was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months of restriction of liberty (electronic bracelet) and deprived of the right to hold managerial positions in educational institutions for 2 years.
According to the investigation, during the period from March 4, 2019 to November 10, 2022, Rashad Asadov, who worked as the director of the above-mentioned school, paid salaries to absent employees and teachers for partnership lessons in the absence of teaching, teaching students with disabilities who were engaged in individual education at home, reasonable suspicions have been established that he transferred the salary calculated to teachers based on teaching hours to his own salary card and embezzled more than 53 thousand manats of state funds in other ways, as well as entering someone else’s data into the certificate of general secondary education in the name of the student studying at the school in exchange for a bribe.
Rashad Asadov was charged with Articles 179.3.2 (massive embezzlement), 308.1, 308.2 (abuse of official powers with grave consequences), 311.2 (bribery for illegal actions of an official) and 313 (falsification of office) of the Criminal Code.
